Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Location: Brynmawr

Employment Type: Temporary to Permanent

Working Hours: 8.30- 5PM - Will also be on an on call rota

Salary: £12.54 - £13.55 an hour.

Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Field Service Engineer to join our well-established client based in the Brynmawr area.

Job Description:

Under the supervision of the line manager, carry out repairs and servicing of both company and competitor equipment as required. Responsibilities include installation, collection, and exchange of equipment, as well as product cleaning in line with infection control policies. Ensure all necessary paperwork and administrative documentation is completed accurately and submitted within required timescales. Additional duties may be assigned by management within the overall scope of the role.

Main Activities/Responsibilities

  • Perform servicing and repairs on a range of company and competitor products efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Plan daily tasks effectively to maximise the number of completed repairs and services.
  • Travel between various sites, including customer homes, with occasional stays away for up to a week.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customer service advisors.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Liaise with clients, sales personnel, and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Possess strong manual handling skills, as the role involves moving equipment and working in restricted positions.
  • Maintain high driving standards and attention to detail, as driving is a significant part of the role.
  • Handle emotionally challenging situations, as interactions may involve unwell customers and their families under considerable strain.
  • Follow all company procedures, including infection control and health & safety regulations.
  • Manage stock levels on the company van and adhere to stock procedures.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately and submit it within expected timeframes.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the company vehicle, reporting any issues to the line manager.
  • Maintain and report any issues with company equipment.
  • Proactively identify potential problems and manage them effectively or seek assistance when necessary.
  • Participate in the on-call rota, with the frequency determined by the line manager.
  • Perform any other duties as required by management that align with business objectives.

  • Sling inspection & servicing
  • Stairlifts (various models)
  • High-low baths (various models)
  • Bath/poolside lifts and hoists
  • Infection control procedures
  • Inventory control
  • Environmental awareness
  • Service administration (timesheets, overtime sheets, job sheets)
  • Additional Skills (Preferred but Training Provided for the Right Candidate):
  • PAT Testing
  • First Aid Training
  • Fire Warden Certification
