Project Engineer (Electronics)
Candour Talent Recruitment is excited to represent a leading engineering company in their search for a Project Engineer based in Gwent. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to play a vital role in managing engineering projects, supporting new product introductions (NPIs), and driving excellence in customer engagement.
The Project Engineer will act as the main liaison between Programme Managers and the wider Engineering team, ensuring engineering changes are effectively managed and customer expectations are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and track engineering changes across teams to ensure seamless integration and execution.
- Lead engineering projects, including project planning, process oversight, and successful first-off sign-offs.
- Act as the primary technical contact for customers, ensuring all requirements are captured and communicated well in advance of NPIs or builds.
- Facilitate LEAN process improvements and collaborate with commercial teams to enhance profitability, including identifying risks and capturing costs for bids.
- Attend customer meetings and engage with internal teams to deliver a first-class customer experience.
- Verify product designs and specifications before manufacturing begins and ensure final products meet company and customer standards.
- Collaborate with the Bids team on cost submissions and document preparation.
- Conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on project launches and technical processes.
- Provide feedback and recommendations for product development to the Research and Development team.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration with both internal teams and external customers.
- Highly motivated, with the ability to take initiative and drive projects forward.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to coordinate efforts across multiple technical departments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other project management tools.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and reconcile cross-functional technical efforts.
- Experience in mentoring or guiding junior team members, with a leadership mindset.
- Familiarity with PFMEA processes and a commitment to quality and process improvement.
