Field Operations Assistant

Location: Gwent / Monmouthshire - South Wales / Field-Based
Full UK Driving Licence Required

Candour Talent Recruitment is proud to represent a dynamic and growing company in the environmental and waste management industry. We are seeking a Field Operations Assistant-a hands-on, proactive individual who isn't afraid to get stuck in, get a little dirty, and play a vital role in delivering essential support services to clients across multiple sectors.

This role will suit someone with a strong work ethic, practical mindset, and the confidence to represent the business professionally on client sites. If you're motivated by a role that keeps you on your feet, varies day to day, and offers a future path into sales or technical development-this could be a fantastic opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver products and collect waste samples from clients across South Wales and beyond

  • Conduct site checks and replenishment of spill kits at designated client locations

  • Support live waste jobs or site projects, ensuring client satisfaction and quality of service

  • Assist with commissioning and setup of environmental control equipment (booms, skimmers, portbins)

  • Receive, unload, and organise deliveries and stock; monitor site when needed during holidays or events

  • Provide flexible support with occasional early morning, weekend, or bank holiday work as required

  • Build and customise spill kits to client requirements

  • Potential to develop into a technical sales role within target industries (e.g., food, water, civils)

What We're Looking For:

- A clean UK driving licence
- Age 21+ (due to driving insurance requirements)
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Willing to work outdoors and in hands-on environments
- Comfortable with dogs (as the workplace is dog-friendly)
- Clean-shaven due to refinery safety mask requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic IT competency (emails, tablets, etc.)
- Honest, mature, and self-motivated

Training & Development:

  • Full product and spill response training provided

  • Factory visits to UK suppliers arranged

  • After probation: potential international travel (Finland, Norway, USA) for specialist training

  • Safety training (e.g., Passport to Safety) provided

  • Confidentiality agreement required upon joining

What's on Offer:

PPE and branded workwear
Company phone
Lunch allowance (£7.50 when out all day)
Holiday pay, workplace pension, private medical care, and potential annual bonus
Varied working environment and opportunities for travel and development
