Employment Type: Full Time - Permanent

Working Hours:

40 Hour Weeks

Rotating Shift Patterns

6am - 2pm

2pm - 10am

Salary: £43,000 Per Annum

Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Maintenance Technician to join our well-established client based in the Chepstow area.

This role presents a unique chance to become a part of a dedicated team within a well-established Manufacturing company.

Job Description:

Reporting directly into the Maintenance Manager, the Technician will be responsible for the site and all its maintenance to ensure production is continually provided. On occasions where issues cannot be resolved internally, the Maintenance Technician will assist with external suppliers to resolve issues in a timely manner

Key Responsibilities:

To continually carry out, routine / preventative maintenance/mechanical settings and fault diagnosis across all the facility and systems, some major items include:

  • Vertical powder paint line.
  • Semi - automated packing (tapping & spiral wrap) lines.
  • Paint line conveyor/track.
  • Spray guns reciprocator.
  • A range of liquid pumps, valves and heating elements in chemical treatment and waste water treatment plant; and
  • Polyamide rolling lines and packing machines.
  • To have an understanding of pneumatic / mechanical control systems.
  • To have an understanding of electro / mechanical control systems.
  • To adhere to and maintain a preventative maintenance programme.
  • To liaise with and assist internal staff where required, promptly and in a professional manner
  • To complete relevant paperwork in line with process.

Adhere to legislation governing employment, including but not restricted to; health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities ensuring compliance with local policies and procedures.

It is anticipated that this role will evolve as the business matures and develops, in which case the post holder is required to be flexible, adaptable and receptive to changes to ensure the role reflects the requirements of the business.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience within the industrial sector
  • 60/40 Electrical Bias

Education /Qualifications:

Essential GCSE or equivalent to a grade 4/C X Desirable Appropriate technical qualification, i.e., NVQ/City & Guilds /HNC including a recognised trade specific apprenticeship.

  • Essential Previous experience of working in a similar role.
  • Proven experience of being a competent electrical technician.
  • Possess excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • A self‐motivated proactive approach to work with high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proven experience of reading machine schematics.
  • Desirable Mechanical fabrication skills
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to build constructive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Strong communicator with excellent organisational and time management skills.
