Manufacturing Engineer, Gwent

Candour Talent Recruitment is delighted to represent a leading engineering company in Crumlin in their search for an experienced Manufacturing Engineer. About the Role

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for implementing production processes and procedures, driving productivity improvements, and managing key projects such as new product introductions, production planning, and manufacturing cell design. The role is essential in reducing waste, improving quality and safety, and optimising operating costs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement manufacturing needs for new product development.
  • Design systems and processes for the seamless integration of new and existing products.
  • Develop and maintain production documentation, such as control plans and SOPs.
  • Support the design and development of production equipment and tooling.
  • Oversee the installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and resolve manufacturing issues.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities, focusing on lean principles and process optimisation.
  • Manage production efficiency, including resource planning, workflow analysis, and layout optimisation.
  • Perform audits and benchmarking studies to ensure best practices are followed.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and safety standards, including ISO9001 and other industry certifications.

Key Requirements

  • Engineering-related qualification (BEng, HND, HNC) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency in tools such as FMEA, GD&T, and process control systems.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication and teamwork abilities.
