Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Tredegar

Employment Type: [Full-time/ Permanent]

Hours: 08:00 - 16:45 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 - 12:00pm Friday.

Candour Talent Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer to join our well-established client based in the Tredegar area.

Job Description:

General Purpose of Role

To identify and implement continual improvement programs throughout the manufacturing operation.

To audit and report on the effectiveness and performance of the Quality Management Systems across the facility.

Main Responsibilities

Quality

  • Perform audits as part of a team based on pre-established schedules.
  • Provide customer support as needed, both locally and abroad.
  • Train, develop, and support employees to improve understanding of quality requirements.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with resolving customer concerns.
  • Participate in APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts such as SMED and reducing PPM.
  • Investigate concerns and work on preventing repeat issues. Ensure that the correct quality tools are available to meet customer and plant expectations.
  • Manage customer concerns and coordinate corrective actions, ensuring compliance from all relevant parties within agreed timeframes.
  • Monitor and analyze production data to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness).
  • Maintain required KPIs.
  • Support calibration requirements as needed.

Person Specification

Education & Qualifications

  • Good understanding of ISO9001:2015 and TS16949:2016.
  • Fully knowledgeable in PFMEA, Control Plans, 5S, and Lean Philosophy.
  • Ideally trained in CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) or familiar with PcDmis software.
  • Ideally trained as an internal auditor for TS16949.
  • Functional Knowledge and Skills
  • Strong customer interface and support experience.
  • Prior experience in the automotive sector.
  • Proficiency in using automotive quality tools and techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, including presentation and active listening abilities.
  • Proficient in IT tools such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and proactive.
