Commercial Roof Cleaning and Maintenance Technician

Location: Midlands, Walsall, Tamworth areas. Mobile Role Covering Commercial Customer Estates.

Candour Talent Recruitment is proud to represent a well-established client in their search for a Commercial Roof Cleaning and Maintenance Technician. This is an exciting mobile role, ideal for an individual with strong maintenance skills and experience working at height. The role involves carrying out reactive and proactive roof gutter cleaning and maintenance, adhering to service level agreements (SLAs), and ensuring the highest standards of work across a commercial customer estate.


About the Role

As a Commercial Roof Cleaning and Maintenance Technician, you will follow a planned schedule of works to meet customer expectations, strengthen customer relationships, and uphold the company's reputation for quality and reliability. This position offers a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently while contributing to a high-performing team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning, maintenance, and repairs on commercial roof gutter systems.
  • Assess requirements for jobs and prioritize tasks to meet agreed timescales and SLAs.
  • Identify defects, communicate issues to the supervisor, and recommend remedial actions.
  • Use job management software to provide accurate reports of completed works.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring safe working conditions at all times.
  • Operate MEWP equipment (1B, 3A, 3B) safely and effectively.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PPMs) and inspections of mechanical fall protection equipment.
  • Maintain and service tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure readiness for tasks.
  • Dispose of site waste responsibly and maintain site logbooks as required.
  • Address minor fabric issues and demonstrate problem-solving techniques to identify root causes.
  • Participate in an on-call rota as needed and attend training courses to keep skills updated.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working at height, including harness training.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, permit-to-work procedures, and safe systems of work.
  • Clean driving license.
  • Proficiency with relevant legislation and mechanical fall protection equipment inspections.
  • Desirable: IPAF certification, SSSTS or SMSTS qualifications.
