Forming Engineer

Candour Talent Recruitment is delighted to represent a leading engineering company based in Caerphilly; our client is searching for an experienced Forming Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised company who is an industry leader within the UK and European markets.

ROLE PURPOSE:

To design and create a forming process to bend extruded aluminium sections to meet customers profile, cosmetic and tolerancing needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Initial Forming sales quotation and liaising with Sales Team
• Forming Tooling design and liaising with internal or external tool makers for manufacture
• Initial setup and prove off of new contract to customers and internal specifications
• Supervision of initial production runs and process improvements/optimisation
• Work closely with CNC machining and Welding Engineers to provide a turnkey solution to the customer
• Liaising with Quality, Technical, Operational Sales Teams and Supply Chain Teams
• Assisting with other duties and in other departments where required
• Use and continuing to develop forming knowledge and skill base

Key Requirements

• Previous experience with at least Radial/Flow forming or 3 roll CNC bending at an engineer level
• Previous Engineering experience is desirable
• Experience working within a customer and supplier environment
• 3D Solidworks or Inventor experience is also desirable, but not essential
• High attention to detail and strong team skills
• Excellent communicator and ability to be client facing
• Flexibility to achieve customer and company expectations
• Working knowledge of AutoCad, Excel, and outlook
• Organised and structured way of working.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Good work ethic and drive to complete work
• Positive, self motivated attitude and capable of achieving set targets
